Your Lips Too Need Some Care
There are so many adjectives that can be used to describe lips, like they are exquisite, sensuous, delicate, appealing, beautiful, tempting and the list goes on and on. You know how important they are for your love life, expressing emotions and of course for the usual day to day activities like talking and eating. So, when they do so much for you, they certainly deserve some extra care.
If brushing your teeth at night is a regular feature with you, then just add on one more good habit and that is of brushing your lips. Instead of toothpaste rub some petroleum jelly onto your lips and scrub with a soft toothbrush to remove the dead skin. And then apply a fresh coat of either petroleum jelly or a lip balm before you head for a good night’s sleep. This one little habit will help you maintain that sensuous and delicate touch to your lips.
Another good habit that you need to include in your lip care regime is to apply some moisturizing lip balm or lipstick, preferably one with a sun-block, to your lips when you’re planning to spend the day out in the sun. And before we shift the track, in case your lips have turned dark, user a mixture of glycerin, honey, rose water and almond oil and apply it to your lips every night.
Now let’s move on to the makeup aspect to enhance the appeal of your lips. As for your regular lip make up always begin by using a lip liner to mark the outlines of the lips, and let the lip liner be one shade darker than your lipstick shade. And don’t do the age old mistake of marking a lip line outside your natural lip line.
To highlight or to make your lips look fuller, use some lip-glosses over your lipstick. Normally, glossy lipsticks are meant for thinner lips and matte lipsticks for thicker lips, so as to balance out the equation and make your lips look well proportioned.
When using matte lipstick to conceal the thickness of your lips, most women complain of dry lips. So here is an alternative that won’t leave your lips dry and will still let you enjoy the matte effect, you can use your regular moisture-rich lipstick and finally run a lip pencil over your lips to conceal the gloss.
