Why Pay For Things That You Don’t Really Need?
We know the recession is making a killing, and this is the time when we need to look into our money matters more objectively.
The best way to safeguard your financial future is to cut down on some of the unnecessary expenses that you’re making today, and although you may feel it’s only a little money that you’re wasting today but if you begin saving money these little bits for the next few years you would be surprised at the huge amount of savings you would make.
The cable/satellite TV
Why on earth have you subscribed to the most expensive channel bouquet, when you hardly watch five to six channels on a regular basis? There is hardly a family that watches more than a dozen channels on TV, but most of these families go in for the expensive satellite channel bouquets.
As plain and simple as it can be, you’re paying extra money for absolutely nothing. Just imagine if you’re paying $50.00 a month for the complete bouquet, and most of the channels that you can watch are available in a bouquet that comes for twenty or thirty dollars, then shifting onto a cheaper plan can help you save nearly two to three hundred dollars each year.
A land line connection
If nearly every grown up in the house is using a cell phone, then there’s absolutely no need for you to have a land line phone. If you’re hardly going to use that home phone, then why pay all the exorbitant monthly rentals. As it is, you all may be using your cell phones more than the home phone, so even if the home phone connection is surrendered back, no one would feel any inconvenience.
Movie rentals
You don’t really need the movie rentals service, unless and until you’re one person who doesn’t step out of the home for any work. Don’t just go by the little temptation that you can borrow as many movies as you like for a fixed monthly payment of about twenty or thirty dollars. Because in most instances you would hardly get time to watch two or three movies a month, and well renting a single movie doesn’t cost more than a dollar.
Health club membership
Maybe you’ve had big plans to follow a healthy exercise regimen, but then if you haven’t done it then why are you still paying the club membership fee. And even if you manage to visit the club about once or twice a week, it still doesn’t make sense to keep paying for the membership. It’s cheaper to buy some home exercising equipment, and a modest set up won’t cost you anything more than the amount you shell out for two months of membership.
