Tie up your hair so that you do not miss any area around your face and neck. Also it is advisable to apply some petroleum jelly on your nails and cuticles in order to prevent discoloration.
The lotion should be applied using upward strokes. Pay attention to little areas like the back of your neck, ears, arms and knees. Smooth it out over your eyelids and blend it into your hairline.
Give the tan some time to dry, before wearing your final outfit so as to avoid staining. If you notice any streaks or patches on your skin, even them out with a damp towel.
