Body hair can be annoying and embarrassing for most women. Removing body hair is a painful and cumbersome job

Most women either use razors, to remove body hair on the armpits, legs, bikini line, etc., which turn their skin black or they opt for waxing which is a painful and time consuming affair.

Epilators are a new trend in the market, used for body hair removal. It’s an electroniv device device which removes the hair by manually gripping multiple hairs and pulling them from the root. Its results are similar to waxing.

But the difference lies in the way waxing works. During waxing the skin suffers a lot of trauma when the wax strips are pulled off; this however, is not the case with epilators.

Epilating with Epilators is not time consuming, and a complete body hair removal takes just about 15-20 minutes. Most of the epilators come with three speeds as “ low, medium and fast.

There are different types of epilators available in the market-rotating spring epilator which is an old model, rotating disc epilator and tweezer epilator. Tweezer epilator is the one which is highly used, and is undoubtedly the best.

Using an epilator

Make sure that your skin is completely dry, without any trace of oil or lotion, before you begin. A warm bath before epilating is a good idea.

You must glide the epilator in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

Sometimes you may experience slight redness or pain, during and after using the epilators. Rubbing a good moisturizer or body lotion, after epilating, will soothe the pain and the redness.

Epilators should never be used on sensitive areas like face and the bikini region. It can damage the delicate skin, causing discomfort.

There are no major side effects of using an epilator, except that it may induce pain in some.Sometimes instead of pulling the hair from the follicle, it may break the hair. Hence, one may experience roughness in the skin due to these half broken hair.If you use these devices on sensitive areas of your body lot of small painful bumps could appear, which might last for a few days.

Lastly, don’t forget to moisturize the skin after epilating, to prevent roughness, redness and itching.
