Tips To Make Friends Online

They say you can never have too many friends, there’s always space for more. And what better way to increase your friends circle by meeting more people on the Internet?

Internet gives you access to meet people from all over the world which in turn gives you experiences you would never have with your small circle of friends in your local place. But when you don’t know who you are talking to or how they feel about it, it’s a little hard to initiate friendship. One good way of meeting new friends is to join some of the popular social networking sites on the Internet like facebook, myspace etc.

Once you have joined these sites, try joining groups and pages that are related to things you like. In case you are into video games, join groups related to games and participate in the forums and discussions. Once you are familiar with people there, add them as your friends.

You can also try joining separate forums or fan clubs of your favorite idols and discuss anything you want there. This way, you let yourself open up to people giving you a chance to meet new people and make friends with them.

Try and make yourself interesting. Don’t be a trivia machine, talking constantly about things you like regardless of whether people want to ear about it not. Talk about things that will have your friends open up to you and will have something to talk about together and share your views. A little bit of humor won’t hurt either, but if you are not a humorous person by nature, you don’t need to change yourself.

Your profile also decides what kind of friends you’d attract. Your profile should show you as a positive and a vibrant person. Don’t talk about your life problems on your profile. Nobody would like that and people would think that all you do is whine about your problems. Make yourself seem as interesting as possible.

But always beware not to reveal too much of your personal information anywhere on the Internet. Don’t post your phone numbers or residential addresses on your profile. It’s also advisable that you don’t post any of your pictures publicly on the Internet either.
