Survival is the First Rule of Self Defense.
Being assaulted can be a nightmare for anyone, but somehow it has been a major problem for most women who are concerned about their personal safety. And with the kind of increase in the crime rate and the way most women today have to travel at odd hours because of their professional careers, it becomes imperative for them to arm themselves with some sort of self defense techniques.
The first rule is survival.
If you ever get stuck in such an awkward situation, your first attempt for survival would be in the form of running away, screaming for help or lastly surrendering your expensive belongings to the attacker. Well if any one of these options can work for you then try them out first. But sometimes you’re stuck in a situation where none of these options can work for instance if someone is trying to harm your child then you need a different strategy to go with. Then you will have no option but to fight back or resist the violent attack.
If you surrender easily, you’re definitely going to lose much more as against trying to resist or fight back. Attackers normally choose their targets as those people from whom they expect the least or no resistance, and if you resist or fight back you will put the attacker in a state of shock which will weaken him psychologically. What is important here is that it should never be a half hearted reaction from your end, if you go with a full on intention to incapacitate the attacker your odds of winning the battle are definitely higher.
Keep your personal safety as your priority and do not hesitate to fatally injure the attacker, and that’s possible only when you can transform your fear into extreme aggression. Make use of any item nearby to attack and injure your opponent. And if nothing is at close reach, which can be used as a weapon, make use of your natural weapons that is your nails, teeth, knees, elbow and so on. It works best to hurt the attacker’s vulnerable points like his eyes, throat and his manly positions.
There is only one thing that should be in your mind that is to do anything and everything that can help you in your survival, ignoring what all harm you may cause to the attacker.
