Home Remedies For Hair Loss Due To Ringworm Infection
There are many reasons due to which loss of hairs occurs. For example, a person may loose hairs due to heredity or genetic factors. Similarly, prolonged illness can also lead to loss of hairs. Sometimes, side effects of certain medications also lead to loss of hairs.
Due to ringworm infection also, loss of hairs occurs. In this infection, small and circular patches are formed on scalp. These patches are generally red in color. Apart from scalp, ringworm infection can occur at toes and fingers also.
Ringworm infection is considered as a highly contagious infection and can easily spread from one person to another due to close contact. Hair follicles are affected adversely due to this infection and become weak. Gradually, loss of hairs occurs. It has been found that ringworm infection as a reason for hair loss is often misunderstood.
This leads to further loss of hairs. Though medications are available at drug stores for treating ringworm infections, there are some home remedies that can also be tried for treating this infection. These remedies do not have any side effect, unlike medications.
Some Effective Home Remedies for Hair Loss Due to Ringworm Infection
Mustard seeds have been found very effective in treating ringworm infection. For treatment, some quantities of mustard seeds are soaked in a bowl of water for few hours. It is better if these are left overnight. They are then grinded for making a paste. This paste is applied to roots of hairs by giving gentle massage. After half an hour, hairs and scalp are rinsed with tepid water.
When used regularly, great relief from ringworm infection is obtained. Similarly, turmeric powder has been found equally effective in treating ringworm infection. Turmeric powder has great antiseptic properties and has the ability of curing different types of infections. For application, turmeric powder and water are mixed for making a paste.
This paste is applied to scalp and left for ten to fifteen minutes. Hairs and scalp are then rinsed with water. If a person does not like topical application of turmeric powder, it can be consumed raw also for checking the growth of fungi and for curing the infection. Equal quantities of honey and turmeric powder are mixed and consumed once in a day. When consumed regularly, hair loss due to ringworm is checked.
There are some fruits also that can be used or treating hair loss due to ringworm infection. For example, papaya is one of them. Papaya has certain acids that help in treating infection. For application, a small piece of papaya can be grated and applied to hair roots and scalp two times a day. After applying, papaya should be left on scalp for fifteen to twenty minutes and is then rinsed with water. Papaya application is considered as an effective antifungal treatment.
By applying certain oils to roots of hairs and scalp, ringworm infection can be treated. For example, castor oil is considered as good for treating ringworm infection. Mildly heated castor oil should be applied to scalp every night before going to bed. For ensuring that good quantities of oil seep into scalp, shower cap can be used. Similarly, coconut oil can also be applied on scalp for treating ringworm infection.
