Honey has the ability to heal, contains several vitamins (like C, B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6) and has elements like potassium, magnesium, calcium, chlorine, sodium, phosphate, sulfur and iron. All these make honey an important ingredient that’s used for skin care.
As honey nourishes your skin and has anti-aging properties, you can use it as a face mask. Honey retains the skin’s moisture, thereby keeping your skin supple. It also has hydration quality that helps the skin to stay elastic and smooth. The antioxidants present in honey act as a protective shield against the UV rays.
Some skin care recipes that use honey are:
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of almonds that are ground finely with 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice. Rub the mixture on your face and then wash off with warm water.
Apply a paste of 1 tablespoon of honey and an apple (deseeded and peeled) on your face and keep it for 15 minutes. Then, use cool water to rinse it.
