Power Naps for Health and Beauty
A majority of the world refers to them as power naps, the short snooze that you enjoy during the day hours when you haven’t slept well through the night, but there are some who prefer calling these as beauty sleeps.
How less sleep affects your beauty and health
If you haven’t been having enough sleep, the negative effects will soon begin to show up on your body. And before the other negative effects, of remaining sleep deprived, show up in your medical records, the first evidence signs will be seen around your eyes and on your skin.
Compromising even with one night’s sleep, can easily given you dark circles and puffiness around your eyes. And when you continuously go on compromising with your sleep, apart from skin, the effects will soon begin showing up on your memory and eyesight.
Your body needs rest
Every human body needs a minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep every night. Your body’s repair and maintenance department gets functioning only when you are sleeping. So when you’re not sleeping enough, you’re not giving your body ample time to recover from the stress and exhaustion of the day.
But at times, your schedule may not let you enjoy the full stretched eight hours sleep. So how do you catch up on that lost sleep? Well, that’s where power naps come to your rescue.
Enjoy power naps and stay healthy and beautiful
Even though most people take power naps only in the afternoons, there is no such hard and fast rule that you can’t enjoy them at any other time. If you are expecting a late night ahead, you can always take a power nap in the evening.
Ideally your power nap needn’t stretch beyond half an hour, because the most wonderful part about taking power naps is that even a short 15 minutes nap is good enough to cover up one hour of lost sleep. It’s best to avoid longer power naps, because they can leave you groggy and the longer you sleep the more difficult it becomes for you to get up.
These short breaks are quite effective in reducing stress and helping your body to recover from the exhaustion. However, when you haven’t slept at all, during the night, then you need to sleep more because half an hour’s nap won’t be able to compensate a good night’s slumber.
