Our feet are probably one of the most overworked parts of the body and unfortunately also the most neglected part. Carrying our weight around the entire day while we juggle our daily tasks, our feet are constantly overworked and constricted in ill fitting shoes and sandals. The result is tired and painful feet which need a lot of pampering and care. A foot spa is one of the best ways of pampering and caring for your tired feet. They not only help in easing your foot pain but also keep common foot problems like corns and calluses at bay.

While you can always opt for a foot spa treatment at your local spas and parlors, these spa treatments can cost you a bomb. Moreover it is not always possible to spend that much time and money week after week.
A home foot spa treatment can help address your needs and help you in pampering your feet in the comfort of your own home. Not only is a home foot spa treatment cheap but also equally effective as well. All you need are some foot spa tips and some simple ingredients to give yourself a relaxing foot spa at home.

Tips For A Home Foot Spa Treatment

Make A Relaxing Foot Soak

The first step is to place your feet in a tub filled with warm water for around fifteen to twenty minutes. This soothes and cleanses your feet. You can add some bath salts or Epsom salts to the hot water for the best results. There are many foot soak variants available in the market. It is also quite easy to make a homemade foot soak using herbs such as peppermint and lavender. Just wrap the dry herbs in a cheesecloth and dip it in a bowl of hot water, Steep for some time and then remove and mix this relaxing foot soak with warm water. Place some marbles or small smooth pebbles in the tub to massage and exercise your feet as you soak them.

Scrub Off The Dirt

Follow up the foot soak treatment by scrubbing your feet with a pumice stone or a foot file and a foot scrub. Store bought foot scrubs are quite effective in removing dead skin cells and dirt from the feet. You can also make your very own foot scrub at home using a cup of oats, aloe vera gel and some body lotion. Your feet should be soft after the foot soak so it is easier to scrape off the dead skin from the heels and other parts with hard calluses. Dip a towel in hot water and then wring it dry properly. Use the towel to wipe your feet.

Moisturize Your Feet

Apply a hydrating moisturizer or foot cream to your feet. Cooling peppermint gels or an intense nice smelling lotion would be quite effective in moisturizing and hydrating your feet. Finish off by spraying some cooling foot spray that gives your feet all day freshness.

Apply a coat off nail polish to your nails. Opt for bright, bold colors which add a touch off glamour and beauty to your feet
