Homemade soaps as the name indicates refers to soaps which are prepared at home. Most of these soaps use natural ingredients and is extremely gentle on the skin.
Unlike commercially produced soaps, homemade soaps do not contain any harsh filler. These soaps are ideal gifts to be given away at Christmas and birthday parties. The following homemade soap recipes can be prepared in a jiffy.
Cinnamon and Glycerin Soap:
To prepare this heavenly smelling soap, melt one bar of unscented glycerin soap in a heavy saucepan over a low flame. Wait till the soap has liquefied completely. Switch off the heat and remove the pan from the fire.
Now add ten drops of cinnamon oil and one drop of green food coloring. Pour the liquid soap mixture into attractive soap molds and allow it to set. Once the soap is ready pack in small boxes made of recycled paper.
Loofah and Glycerin Soap:
This is a wonderful hydrating as well as exfoliating soap. To prepare this soap recipe, melt one bar of pure glycerin soap in a heavy saucepan placed over a low flame. Once the glycerin soap has melted completely, add a teaspoon of powdered loofah. Remove the saucepan from the fire and keep it aside.
Now add fifteen drops of lemon essential oil and one drop of yellow food coloring. Pour the liquid soap mixture into soap molds and allow it to set well before packing it in clear cellophane wraps.
Orange Peel and Cinnamon Soap:
To make this soap grate twelve ounces of Castile soap into a heavy saucepan. Now pour nine ounces of distilled water into the saucepan. Heat the soap and water mixture over a low flame. Now add one and a half teaspoons of ground cinnamon, two tablespoons of ground orange peel and one teaspoon of freshly ground ginger into the bubbling soap mixture. Stir well.
Remove the saucepan from the flame. Now add three drops of cinnamon essential oil. Pour the liquid soap mixture into attractive soap molds. Once it sets remove the soap and pack it in colored paper.
