A receding hair line is not exclusive to males; some women also experience this same condition. Losing hair in the frontal hairline is described by the receding of the hairline above and beside the forehead.
The usual causes of a receding frontal hairline are overexposure to chemicals, frequent styling and hair treatments.
Frequently tying your hair into a ponytail or braids is also another cause. This is because the hair is pulled tightly away from the forehead, which causes hair breakage and the roots are pulled out. A receding hairline can be reversible; here are a few homemade remedies to do just that:
Use an Herbal Shampoo:
Using an herbal shampoo can be very helpful in making the hair on your frontal hairline grow back. You should use a shampoo that contains chamomile, aloe vera, ginseng, horsetail, rosemary, biotin, silica and vitamin E. All these herbs and vitamins contribute in promoting healthy hair growth.
Apply a Hair Conditioner:
After thoroughly rinsing off the herbal shampoo from your hair, apply a conditioner onto your scalp and hair. Your conditioner must contain amino acids, biotin, aloe vera, ginseng and green tea. They help the hair grow stronger and thicker. Leave the conditioner on for about 15 to 30 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
Dry Hair Gently:
After rinsing your hair gently, dry your hair with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing your hair vigorously with a towel to prevent hair loss. Never wring your hair or squeeze it dry because it will pull out the hairs on your hairline and make your hair thinner.
Apply Coconut Oil Mixture:
Apply a mixture of coconut oil, rosemary oil and lavender oil onto your towel-dried hair. To make the mixture, add 10 drops of rosemary oil and 10 drops of lavender oil into 2 ounces of coconut oil. Mix the oils thoroughly and place in a sealed bottle. Massage the oil mixture onto the scalp focusing on the frontal hairline for at least 10 minutes. The oil, as well as the massage, help stimulate hair growth.
Rinse and Use Oil Mixture as Styling Product:
Leave the coconut oil mixture on the hair for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Let your hair air dry instead of using a hair dryer because this can further damage your hair. Once your hair is completely dry, place a few drops of the oil mixture in the palm of your hand and apply onto your hair. Use it as a substitute for your regular hair styling products that contain harsh chemicals.
