Home Remedies for Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are downright unsightly and having them on the body is something that everyone dislikes. They owe their existence to a number of factors;

though predominantly stretch marks are caused due to pregnancy, there are few other reasons as well which give rise to them, like weight gain or loss, rapidity in growth, stress, imbalanced diet etc.



These white thin marks however, can be treated even at home. A wide ranging home remedies are available which act as curative measures to help get rid of these marks altogether. Some such easy-to-follow home remedies are discussed:

Cocoa butter is well known in being very effective with stretch marks. Applying regularly and diligently for at least four times a day on the stretch marked areas can eventually lead to removal of these marks. Another alternative to this is Shea butter which is laden with Vitamin A and E and rubbing of which on the affected areas will provide good results.



Aloe Vera Gel application helps to lessen the intensity of stretch marks and have them removed in due time. Massage regularly for results.

One of the easier ways of getting rid of stretch marks is to use lavender oil; however it at least has to be applied three times a day for visible results.

Rubbing the area with an apricot scrub has seen to have beneficial results on stretch marks.



Use warmed olive oil on the stretch marks and have it massaged it gently. Other oils which can be used for stretch mark removal are cod liver oil, flaxseed oil and castor oil.

Massaging with a mixture of almond oil, lavender oil and chamomile oil works great for stretch marks. Also, calendula oil can be used on its own to reduce stretch marks on body.

Apart from such cures, it is of utmost importance to maintain a diet that will provide you with necessary vitamins in plenty. Your diet must contain fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, eggs, fish, almonds etc which provide the nutrients that are required by the body.
