Healthy Eating Guide For Busy Professionals

The chaotic and the speedy life that we lead today, often makes us forgo healthy eating, to keep up with the fast pace of the outside world. While it is always better to eat to live rather than live to eat, but the kind of junk we’re eating today is not apposite to lead a healthy life.

That is one reason every family today is spending more on medical expenses and is visiting medical centers too often. If you too are a victim of the overstretched nine to five office routine then you must get into the habit of carrying some healthy snacks and lunch to your office.

Please learn to say ‘no’ to the junk food served at office canteens or nearby cafeterias, because unless you abstain from eating this junk food you can never think of staying healthy. But there are times when you just can’t avoid eating outside because of your work, like when you have to take your client out for a lunch, on such occasions be wise with the food choices you make from the menu. As far as possible avoid the deep fried snacks and make it a habit to always order for a platter of salad. If your taste buds cannot resist the temptation, think along the lines of ordering something grilled as it is a far better alternative when compared with deep fried foods.

When the work is making a killing on the brain, most people are likely to take the caffeine cover. But instead move from coffee to tea, as it has been scientifically proven that tea has some beneficial effect on your health because of the anti-oxidants it carries. Green tea comes in a lot of exotic flavors infused with a lot of healthy herbs, so the benefits of drinking tea almost double up.

To deal with hunger pangs, carry some healthy nuts such as walnuts, almonds, pistachios, raisins and cashew nuts in your office bag. And again, when you are buying nuts, go in for the roasted version instead of the fried ones. Nuts are up much healthier snack when compared with the other regular snacks like pastries and biscuits.

And lastly, if you don’t have much time in the morning to make your lunch, you can spare out some time during the weekend and stock up your deep freezer for the whole week ahead.
