Hair Ironing: How to Choose the Right Iron and Other Ironing Tips
Hair ironing is a part of hairdo, especially if you have to be at an official or a formal function.
Choosing the right iron and the right way to iron the hair is important and here are the tips on how to choose the iron and how to effectively iron your hair:
There are many flat irons available in the market and they are made from aluminum, ceramic and tourmaline. The more expensive models are made of ceramic and tourmaline.
Aluminum however, tends to damage the hair; being a good conductor of heat it radiates and transfers the heat, exposing the hair to a greater damage. However, with the ceramic and the tourmaline irons, the heat gets transferred more quickly without any exposure to excess of it and hence they cause less damage to the hair.
It is advisable that you save up for the better quality flat iron because it will be more beneficial in the long run. When you decide on an iron type, ensure that there has a temperature regulator.
Curly hair, for example, needs heat to be straightened out. Therefore with a variable temperature option, different types of hair can be straightened easily without any forethought of damage to hair. If the iron is new, start from the lowest temperature. Basis the result, increase the temperature.
Before you iron, there are thermal protectors available which should be applied to the hair to prevent any damage even in error. Not only they coat the hair and prevent direct exposure to high temperature, they also will help in prevention of hair damage if you blow dry your hair afterward. It’s usage is highly beneficial and should not be forgotten.
Before you start, you must first clean the hair and make it soft to help it get into their natural form easily. This will result in easy ironing. If your hair is thick and curly, then add some straightening balm to the hair to soften it.
Then place the hair in even sections; place two side sections and a top section into clips and start using the iron from the bottom section. Separating the hair in sections will help you achieve even results.
