Give Yourself a Pedicure
Our feet are such an important part of our body and yet they go almost ignored when it comes to taking care of them. We never forget to apply cream on our face, moisturizer on our hands and gel to our hair, but rarely do we think about our feet. Nevertheless, if you want your feet to look healthier and attractive then you must get a pedicure done twice a month. I know pedicures are quite costly at the parlors, so how about doing one at home.
It’s easy, and doesn’t need any special gadgets or special training. For a start, soak your feet in warm water to which bath salts have been added and enjoy the feeling as the stress dies away. About twenty minutes of soaking is good enough, and in case you don’t have bath salts at home, make use of some common salt from your kitchen. The results are even more wonderful if you apply a bit of olive oil to your feet before soaking them.
After soaking, the skin and the callus will soften up making it easier for you to remove the dead skin and callus. Massage your feet with some exfoliating scrub and leave it on for some time. Once the callus turns very soft, scrub it off with a pumice stone and then rinse your feet in cold water.
Next turn to your toenails, trim them and gently push back the cuticles. The toenails are best cut in squares shape so as to avoid the problem of ingrown nails. Rinse your feet once again in cold water and pat them dry with a towel. Apply some foot cream and give your feet a nice massage using longer upward strokes. And finally before you apply nail polish; wipe off the excess cream from your feet with a towel. When applying nail polish begin with a base coat and two or three coats of the desired nail paint. After an hour or so, rub some oil into your cuticles and you’re ready to flaunt your beautiful feet.
