Did you know, freeze-dried berries contain more anthocyanins that help fight cancer than fresh berries usually do?Fresh fruits in summer are not easily available and can be hard to get for many now. But this winter you can have more nutrition through the freeze-dried berries, according to a recent research. Freeze-dried fruits can be kept for over a year.

Cherries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are some of the best fruits that fight cancer. This is because of their high anthocyanin content. They are made up of water and you need only a couple of tablespoons of berries to get the nutrition and the anthocyanin content of fresh berries. Some part of the nutrition is however lost through freeze-drying. You would also feel less filled with freeze-dried fruits as there is less water in the fruits. Some berries are also a good source of resveratrol.

You can also add freeze-dried berries to the yogurt, cereal, muffin mixes and bread mix. Mix some freeze dried berries in your fruit salad too.It is a fact that one hundred per cent vegetables and fruits help reduce the risk factors that lead to various diseases. Cancer and cardio vascular diseases can be cured to a great extent with vegetables and fruits. Juices of fruits also lead to a risk reduction. The fruits with a positive impact do not come just from the fiber but also from the antioxidants present there.Research is on regarding the fact whether juice is more beneficial than the whole fruit in case of cancer and cardio vascular diseases.

Fruit and vegetable juices also reduce the risk of getting the Alzheimer’s disease. A person who drinks three to four glasses of fruit juice or vegetable juice in a week has a much lower risk of developing Alzeimer’s disease than people who drink fruit juices once a week.

Some people feel eating vegetables and fruits is better than just drinking the juices. The fibers are also important. Juice can be a good source of nutrients. The juice includes mineral potassium, B vitamin folate, beta carotene, vitamin C and other important nutrients. The juices also contain other anti oxidants that protect the body. The antioxidant reduces the risk of
getting heart disease and also against cancer.

People that drink juice daily and also take several servings of vegetables will have increased anti-oxidants in the body and thus can fight the age related diseases like dementia and all eye diseases. Whole fruits and vegetables contain the peels which cannot be present in the juices. A whole orange can give you five times more antioxidant than a glass full of orange juice. The antioxidant is found in the white membrane that separates the pulp of the orange.
