Fashions that have Lasted through the Decades

Some trends will always live on. The LBD is one of them. This is a timeless classic that has been in style for the last 7 to 8 decades and if I speculate correctly then it is going to stay around for a few more. If you are not very inclined to fashion and are stumped about what clothes to invest in to have a fashionable closet then I have a few tips for you.

If you are a working woman then you need to have a business suit. This should be an article of clothing that fits your body like a glove. Choose a suit with a texture is favorable to all seasons. Cotton is your best bet.

A garment that can be hand or machine wash will not last long so I don’t think it will be a good investment. One that can be dry cleaned is the best option. Look out for a versatile color. Avoid basic black; instead opt for silver, grey or blue.

Every woman need to have a little black dress in her closet. This is one dress that can be teamed up with accessories, other articles of clothing and a good pair of shoes. No matter what size or shape you are avoid wearing a dress with a high neck or collar. A dress that touches your knees is a good option. Instead of wearing flashy outfits once invest in a dress that is versatile and can be worn for many seasons and years.

All women need a daily bag that can carry around all her essentials without looking bulky. Choose a bag that is black, tan or grey as it will suit all outfits and seasons.

A trench coat is another must have. This is a coat that you can wear through all the seasons so again it is wise to invest in one that is a neutral color. A simple coat with minimum details will look brilliant. Choose a coat that is knee length or just above the knees.

The last and most essential part of a woman’s wardrobe is her pair of jeans. If you plan on investing in only one pair of jeans then don’t feel shy if you need to spend hours, days or for that matter even weeks on choosing the right pair of jeans. Dark colored denims look smart and you can dress them up or down. Choose a style that suits your body shape and makes you look and feel comfortable.
