We all love fashion and want to look our best all the time. But not all of us can afford to buy new outfits daily. Most of us also dread having to wear the same outfits often and thus we tend to want to buy new outfits regularly. I have spent almost 12 years in the fashion industry and my time here has taught me that fashion is not all about brand names and designers;
fashion is about being comfortable in what you wear and wearing clothes and accessories that match your personality.
One thing that you must remember about fashion is that it follows a circle; by that I mean what goes around comes around. So rummaging through your mum’s closet may not be a bad idea after all. Here are a few tips that will help you to revive your current closet.
Look out for adornments for your neck. Neckties, scarves, bows and even ribbons around your neck look fabulous. Use these accessories to dress up a rather simple or dull outfit. They also add great appeal to your outfit.
Use colors to your advantages. If you are in a sporty mood then you can try wearing clashing colors or contrasting colors in bright hues. This will definitely make heads turn.
Wear funky socks and tights. You can add your own personality to these items of clothing by adding a few embellishments like ribbons, buttons or bows to these outfits. The same can be done for belts too.
If you are tired of a long skirt that has been in your wardrobe for a few years then cut it and shorten in. On the flip side you can add length to an outfit by adding a fringe or a new layer to it.
Detach sleeves from dresses and blouses to give it a new look. You could also add lace sleeves to sleeveless clothes.
Use your skills to your advantage. If you are a good seamstress then get creative with your clothes. If you know how to knit then you may want to knit scarves, shawls and woolies for yourself.
Use these tips to change your wardrobe instantly and without spending too much money.
