A combination skin type is characterized by skin with a smooth even texture, healthy color, medium sized pores and good circulation.
This type of skin tends to be dry towards the cheeks and oily in the T-zone regions. A face mask for combination skin should be prepared using ingredients which addresses both the skin types, i.e. the dry areas, as well as the oily regions.
The face masks should neither dry out the skin, nor leave an oily patina on the face. A good face mask for combination skin is one which removes the excess oil while hydrating the dryer areas of the face, giving the skin a dewy well hydrated glow.
Cornmeal Face Mask for Combination Skin
To prepare this mask one tablespoon of cornmeal is mixed with distilled water to form a smooth paste. Once the paste is prepared, apply in a circular motion on the face. Leave the mask on the face for about fifteen to twenty minutes or until the mask begins to dry out before washing it off with cold water.
Milk and Sandalwood Mask for Combination Skin
To make this mask, combine a tablespoon of pure sandalwood powder with enough milk to form a smooth paste. Apply the mask on the face in a circular motion. Wash the mask off after twenty minutes with cold water.
This is an excellent mask for the summer months as the sandalwood powder has good cooling properties. This mask if applied regularly helps to even out the skin tone, remove skin blemishes and gives the skin an overall glowing appearance.
Mint and Yoghurt Mask for Combination Skin
This mask can be prepared by mixing a tablespoon of yoghurt with two teaspoons of mint juice. Mix vigorously to form a smooth paste. Apply this mint yoghurt mask in a circular motion on the face and the neck. Leave the mask on for about fifteen minutes and then wash it off with cold water. This mask not only makes the skin soft and supple but is also a great natural beaching agent.
