Electrolysis: A Permanent And Safe Facial Hair Removal Method

April 14, 2009

electrolysisLooking into the mirror and seeing that thin mustache or the shadow of facial hair elsewhere on the face, can be quite depressing for any woman. Undoubtedly, facial hair looks great on men, but on a woman’s smooth facial skin any unwanted hair looks absolutely unsightly.

The reasons for facial hair could be many, such as genetic structure, hormonal imbalance or side effects of some medication, but what’s more important than the reason is to find a way to get rid of these disgusting looking hairs.

Of course, the traditional methods of hair removal such as waxing, shaving, hair removal creams and threading do offer a solution, but most of them are temporary. Also some of these methods may be painful and may leave the skin a little scarred. And if you have researched a bit on this subject of hair removal, then you surely would have come across the term electrolysis.

Electrolysis

This procedure, which is quite a promising hair removal technique, is carried out by a professional who uses an epilator type of a device that emits low frequency radio waves to destroy the hair follicle.

After that a pair of tweezers may be used to pull out the hair. And if you think that this pulling out of the hair might be painful, let me tell you, you won’t feel anything more than a mere tingle.

The procedure usually spreads over a few weeks, and you may be required to visit the clinic every week. Each session lasts for about half an hour to one hour and the amount that you would be paying would depend on the number of sessions required.

Electrolysis is time consuming, but then you need to get it done just once in a lifetime. Also, there aren’t any major side effects except for the temporary redness which goes away within a day or two.

Overall, the procedure is quite effective and quite safe and there are no chances of your skin getting scarred or burnt. Still, you need to be a little selective about the professional who is going to perform the procedure on you, to ensure that he is qualified and practices good hygiene all through the treatment.
