Effective Treatments For Blepharitis

Cure With Essential Oils
Essential oils like lavender oil are found to be very effective in providing relief from the condition of blepharitis. In order to perform the treatment, you should add 5 to 6 drops of lavender oil to a cup of warm water. Dip a clean cotton ball in this solution, squeeze out the extra water and then place it over your eyelids. Repeating this treatment for half an hour daily will help you to regain the lost moisture in the eyelids.
Use Aloe Vera
A herbal remedy for dry eyelids which is widely followed involves the use of Aloe vera. The healing action of Aloe vera combined with its moisturizing properties will help in keeping the eyelids healthy and hydrated.

The method of treatment is quite easy and all you have to do is to rub Aloe vera gel onto the region of the eyelids. You can also make a juice out of Aloe vera gel and apply it on your eyelids with the help of a clean cotton ball.
However, do take care that the Aloe vera juice doesn’t come into contact with your eyes, as it can lead to the development of a burning sensation.
Petroleum Jelly Treatment
In this method of treatment, you should dip a clean Q-tip in petroleum jelly and then apply it in a thin layer over your eyelids. Do not use excessive amounts of petroleum jelly as it can clog the skin pores and aggravate the condition of dry eyelids.
Perform this treatment every night before going to bed and wipe your eyelids with a clean tissue in the morning. Following this routine regularly for 2 weeks will help in eradicating the condition of dry eyelids.
Cure With Herbal Teas
The antioxidant properties of herbal teas make it a very effective agent in the treatment for blepharitis. To avail the goodness of this natural product, you should dip a clean cotton ball in a cup of warm and freshly brewed herbal tea, and then place the cotton ball over your eyelids for 10 minutes.
In an alternative method, you can refrigerate some herbal tea bags and then later on place these cool tea bags over your eyes for around 10 minutes.
Along with following the above said remedies, you should always cleanse your eyelids properly and should also avoid the use of cosmetics that can tend to cause skin irritations.
