Don’t Hesitate To Ask For A Plus Size
While the obesity figures soar, our rancid culture still continues to worship lanky thins, who look no better than the scrawny drought victims. The world population is succumbing to obesity, and still our beauty prototypes haven’t changed.
Asking for a plus size, at the fashion store, is one humiliating experience for all the fuller women. Nevertheless, there are several fashion designers who have already stepped in to fashion out an extensive array of clothing for the plus-sized women.
History has been witness to fuller beauties
This craze of being stick thin is a phenomenon that has evolved over the last half a century or so, and prior to that there are ample historical records of fuller women being acknowledged for their stunning beauty. If you get a chance look at the photos of some of the legendary European beauties of the past and you’ll conclude that being stick thin was never considered beautiful. And well, there still are many cultures around the world where rounded, curvy and plump women are seen as more beautiful than their shrunken counterparts.
Get realistic
The world is indeed going mad or else you won’t find people getting onto diets to fit into a particular clothing size. And, so long, we used to think that clothing is meant for a person, but now it’s the other way around. For all the plus sized females, my little advice is that step out of the mad fashion chase, and look for designs that complement and flatter your body. And as long as you’re within the healthy weight limits, there is no point torturing your body to fit into a size seven or eight.
And when you go shopping for your plus sized clothing, don’t be disheartened to see the word giant attached to some of the clothing such as the “black giant tunic”. If the dress suits you, just pick it up and ignore the tag. These offensive words are nothing but the result of the impoverished vocabulary of some imprudent designers.
And lastly, whoever tries to advise you on what to wear and what not to wear, to look slim, don’t hesitate to be rude and tell them to mind their own business.
