Divorce May Be The Only Option
July 28, 2009
When you get married, you never even have the faintest thought in your mind that your relationship could end up in divorce. Still, looking at the numbers, of divorces that take place every year, is quite saddening.
There are lots of couples who realize within the first few years that they are not made for each other, and soon they may begin showing reluctance to follow the wedding vows. And gradually as your relationship turns jittery, and you find it difficult to handle any more of it, the obvious logical step seems to be a divorce.
A divorce is always painful, and you should always try and work out some solution before you head for the court. However in certain situations, divorce may be the most agreeable in to do. And in such situations even the staunchest believers in the institution of marriage, may also agree that a divorce is the best way out.
Abusive spouse
If your man has been physically or emotionally abusing you, there is no point in continuing to live with him. Just because you’re a woman, doesn’t mean you have to take all the beating from your man. This abusive nature is very difficult to change, so even if he promises that he will not beat you up in future, you can never trust him.
Even if you want to pardon him because it’s his first time, don’t ever think about pardoning him if he repeats this abusive attitude ever again. Simply walk out and file for a divorce.
Alcoholics and drug addicts
It is difficult for any woman to live with the man who is a perfect alcoholic or a drug addict, especially when he’s not willing to give up his addictions. If he’s willing to make efforts to leave his addiction, then you can always extend a supportive hand, otherwise just dump him because he’s not worth your companionship.
A threat to your life
If you feel that your spouse can be physically dangerous to you, then it is in your best interest to move out of his life at the earliest and seek a divorce. But, don’t just go by a gut feeling, look into the matter and see if he really plans to harm you in some way so as to fulfill his personal goals.
In most cases a man would harm his wife only if there is some financial reward he is expecting by doing so, for instance if there is some huge ancestral property in your name.
When caught in such situations, don’t even think twice before filing for divorce, because taking a divorce is the only way to protect your self.
