Cellulite is usually known to affect the thighs, the legs and the buttocks; however in certain women cellulite is also seen to affect other parts of the body such as the shoulders and the arms. If you too are afflicted by cellulite, here is how you can prevent it from forming and developing in your body.

Exercise

There isn’t a better cure for cellulite than to exercise on a regular basis, besides checking on your diet. Exercising regularly will insure that your body has proper blood circulation and that you burn up the extra calories which have been depositing under your skin in the form of fat. Exercising will also help you achieve the right muscle tone, which again prevents the fat from accumulating in small chunks under the skin. Sweating it out is also important, because sweat helps in expelling the toxins from the body.

The anti-cellulite diet

A thoughtfully planned diet goes a long way in not only preventing the development of cellulite but also in breaking down the existing cellulite.  Here is a list of nutrients which help in removing cellulite, along with the food sources that provide you with these nutrients.

Retinol A

It is a form of vitamin A, which is highly beneficial for your skin. It helps in tightening of the skin, and thus it prevents the fat from getting accumulated under your skin. Eggs and fat less milk added to your breakfast will take care of your vitamin A requirements.

Beta carotene

Beta carotene is known to prevent inflammation, and the more you consume it on a daily basis the lesser are your chances of developing cellulite. Carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, watermelon and spinach are some of the foods which are high in beta carotene.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an excellent antioxidant and is needed to slow down the aging process of the skin. It also strengthens your skin to fight against stress and sun exposure, while contributing significantly to the development of collagen.

Vitamin C

This can be had from citrus fruits, berries, tomatoes and green beans, and it plays the most significant role in the development and regeneration of the collagen structure.

Besides ensuring that your diet provides you with ample amounts of these nutrients, you also need to cut down on your alcohol, salt and sweets consumption so as to prevent cellulite.
