Dealing With Eye Wrinkles – Some Tips

Eye wrinkles do not present a beautiful sight to look at. Many factors like heredity, harsh weather conditions and lack of proper skin care can lead to formation of eye wrinkles.

These wrinkles are also considered to be a definite sign of aging. With an increase in age, the rate of production of collagen and elastin fibers slows down, making the skin around the eyes less firm and finally leading to the formation of eye wrinkles.

You should always keep the skin surrounding the eyes well hydrated. You can moisturize your skin daily for this purpose. Daily moisturizing keeps the skin well hydrated and prevents wrinkle formation.



The skin surrounding your eyes is very sensitive and delicate. Be gentle on that area and avoid scratching and rubbing your skin.

Take care to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. The skin under the eyes is very thin and therefore very much vulnerable to get damaged by the UV rays of the sun. To prevent this, do wear sunscreen with a SPF of minimum 30 whenever you are out in the sun. Also wear polaroid glasses and wide brimmed hats to block out the sun’s rays and to protect the skin around your eyes.

Try sleeping on your back. Sleeping with your face on the pillow can irritate the delicate skin around your eyes and lead to wrinkle formation.



You can also try out many home remedies to get rid of eye wrinkles. You can apply mashed banana on the skin near your eyes. Wash off after 20 minutes. Bananas are found to be very effective in getting rid of eye wrinkles naturally.

Make a paste of crushed almonds with milk and spread it evenly on your face. Wash off after 15 minutes with warm water. This treatment not only helps to reduce the wrinkles and the puffiness surrounding your eyes but will also help in lightening your skin.

Apart from following  these treatments, you should also have a healthy diet rich in nutrients which help to keep the skin healthy. Also give up habits like smoking and drinking as they inhibits collagen production leading to wrinkle formation.
