Cope and Overcome Morning Sickness

Some women experience morning sickness during the first trimester of their pregnancy while others do not show any signs of morning sickness throughout their term. The latter are a lucky few however a large percent of women experience discomfort during their first trimester. Let’s look at a few ways to effective cope with and reduce morning sickness.Start with watching your diet closely. When you are pregnant your body does not react to food the same way as it did before you were pregnant. The foods that you relished may be the ones that cause you some degree of discomfort. In order to reduce this you need to pay attention to the signals your body sends out. Start with noting how your body reacts to the different food groups. This will give you an indication of the food that your body permits you to eat.

If you suffer from nausea during your pregnancy then drinking adequate amounts of water will help you to ease your stress. Remember, there is no easy way to prevent this condition completely; if you suffer from morning sickness then the best you can do is ease the stress it causes you. Drinking aerated beverages helps out certain women; however I do not recommend trying this. Lemon water and honey is a good option instead.



Avoid drinking caffeine based beverages. This includes tea, coffee and energy drinks. You will benefit from drinking herbal teas as they are known for their soothing and calming properties. Chamomile and green tea are beneficial as they soothe stomach aches and reduce bloating. Lavender tea calms the nerves and reduces nausea and stomach cramps.

Maintain a diet that is based on raw fruits and vegetables. These give you the nutrients and vitamins that your body requires and also reduces the risk of an adverse reaction to the food you eat. Citrus fruits may impact your body positively while other fruits will help you to gain energy after you throw up.



In order to maintain your energy when you suffer from morning sickness you need to eat a healthy diet that is rich in proteins, vitamins and carbohydrates.
