An ideal cleanser for oily skin should moisturize your face and at the same time should also remove its excessive oiliness. If you have oily skin, then it is recommended that you stay away from cleansers which have in it oil and alcohol. Using cleansers which contain alcohol will tend to leave your skin extremely dry and tight. On the other hand, presence of oil is the cleanser will add to the oiliness of your face.
If the increased oiliness of your skin is causing acne formation, then you can use medicated cleansers which contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or beta hydroxy acids. Benzoyl peroxide is a natural drying agent which will help in controlling the oil production by the sebaceous glands to a great extent. Along with cleansing your skin, the ingredients present in these cleansers will act as effective anti bacterial agents, thus relieving you from the problem of acne.
Apart from depending on commercially available cleansers, you can also make use of natural cleansers so as to take care of your skin. Natural cleansers for oily skin can be made by using readily available ingredients. These cleansers are very easy to make and at the same time are very effective in their action. Of the natural cleansers which are available for oily skin, lemon cleansers are a quite popular one.
Lemon juice has properties which allows it tone your face and to control the production of sebum. It also has antioxidants which will fight skin damage and will promote skin rejuvenation. To prepare one such cleanser, you should grind together 4 to 5 almonds which are sprinkled with 4 tablespoons of lemon juice. This mixture is to be then combined with 4 tablespoons of milk. The cleanser thus prepared is to be then massaged gently on the face for about 5 minutes and should be then washed off.
Another natural cleanser can be made by mixing together 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of yogurt, half a teaspoon olive oil and 2 slices of peeled apple in a blender. Massage this cleanser on your face and follow it up by rinsing thoroughly. This homemade cleanser will normalize the pH levels in the skin and will thus regulate the skin’s oil balance.
While using the cleanser, you should massage it in soft, circular motions on your face. Never rub the cleanser too hard as it may irritate the sebaceous glands, which in turn will cause the overproduction of sebum, thus worsening the condition of blocked skin pores.
