Body Polish – For A Smooth And Beautiful Skin

Everyone wishes to have a smooth and silky skin. To fulfil the dream of having a perfect skin, one can follow many cosmetic and natural treatments. Today, many beauty spas around the world offer skin care treatments using body polishes.

A body polish treatment helps in the moisturization and exfoliation of the skin, thus making your skin silky smooth and rejuvenated. The advantage of body polish treatments are that it can be done easily at home also. In order to make a body polish, you will have to mix together abrasive substances like sugar or salt along with a moisturizing oil.

A basic recipe for a body polish will suggest the mixing of half a cup of jojoba oil with one teaspoon of lavender oil. To this mixture add half a cup of liquid soap and 1 cup of sea salt. Keep on stirring this mixture until all the ingredients have blended well together.

The jojoba oil which is easily absorbed by the skin will moisturize the skin and will also serve as a protective barrier on the surface of the skin. The sea salt will act as an abrasive, thus facilitating the removal of dead skin cells

Before using a body polish, you will have to cleanse your body in order to get rid of dirt and other impurities. After cleansing, apply the body polish throughout your body in soft circular motions by concentrating on rough spots like the elbows and knees. Finally, rinse off the body polish using warm water and pat dry yourself using a clean towel.

Since sea salt acts as a mild abrasive, it can be used by people having sensitive skin without the fear of developing any side effects. You can also make another body polish suited for people with sensitive skin by replacing sea salt with brown sugar.

Body polishing done with brown sugar is an effective method of getting rid of dry skin. These mild acting body polishes should be used twice a week in order to obtain the desired results. You can also make a body polish by using ground walnut shells or white cane sugar as the abrasive. Even though these polishes provide a higher degree of exfoliation than mild body polishes, they cannot be used on sensitive skin owing to their high abrasive properties.
