Aromatherapy For Your Face

Aromatherapy is the latest rage in beauty sciences, which involves using essential oils to treat beauty problems. Difference smells have been known to have different effects on our brain thereby triggering different bodily responses, let us have a look at how we can use these aromatic oils to improve our facial skin.

As is quite obvious from the name itself, aromatherapy skin care implies using essential oils in face packs and for facial massage. And since we’re using these oils directly on our skin, be sure to pick up only those which are purely plant based oils. Most of the aromatic oils are highly concentrated and therefore you need to ensure a proper combination of different oils when trying an aromatherapy facial at home.

Aromatherapy oils are known to show better hydrating effect as well as increased competence in removing toxins. But to get the best results you must first be sure about what your skin type is that is whether it is oily, dry, normal or sensitive skin.

There’s a wide range of aromatic oils such as lemon, rose, sandalwood, lavender, geranium, jasmine, chamomile and so on. Your choice of aromatherapy oil should be based on any particular skin conditions that you’re trying to treat as well as your basic skills type. Here are some of the aromatherapy face packs that you can make at home.

For the first recipe take about one teaspoon of milk and add sandalwood powder along with some finely ground almond paste to it. Add some chamomile oil, say about three to four drops, and apply it on your face and neck. This recipe is helpful in treating dull looking skin while helping you to beat down stress.

The recipes to fight bacterial skin problems and to make your skin glow can be made with 1tbsp. of almond paste, a teaspoon of honey and two drops of rose oil. Mix all the ingredients together and apply it to your face, let it dry completely and then wipe off with a wet towel.

If you want to rejuvenate your dry skin, give it a gentle massage with a mixture of lavender, rose and geranium oil mixed in the ratio 2:2:1. And to treat your oily skin mix in some yogurt with two drops each of lemon and cypress oil to make a face pack.
