Aloe Vera has been known for its skin benefits from centuries. It is also known to cure not only sun burns, pimples and skin scars but also eczema and even wounds.
The vitamin E that it contains and its anti-oxidant properties can work wonders for your skin. The market has no dearth of aloe skin care products. You can also prepare your own aloe recipes. The primary requirement to prepare them is an aloe Vera plant. Below is a list of some such recipes:
Aloe face mask– Cut a small piece (of a finger’s length) of aloe Vera, preferably from the outermost leaf of the plant. Remove all its thorns with a knife and peel its coat. Massage the gel oozing out of it on bare skin. Put on this mask for around 20 minutes and wash off. It cleanses, softens and dehydrates your skin making it look young and fresh.
Aloe Vera exfoliating facial mask– take one tsp of ground oats, one tablespoon of ground almonds, one tsp of honey and one tsp of aloe Vera gel. Mix the ingredients in a bowl with the help of a blender.
When a paste formulates, apply generously on the face and massage gently with fingertips till it dries. Wash off with lukewarm water. This mixture will exfoliate all dead skin leaving it smooth and fresh.
Aloe skin toner–aloe Vera gel can also be used as a toner. Dip a cotton ball in Aloe Vera gel and wipe it on your face to remove all oil residues leaving your skin soft and supple.
Aloe foot exfoliating mask- Take half a cup of oatmeal, half a cup of cornmeal, four to five tsp of aloe Vera gel and half a cup of unscented body lotion in a big bowl. Mix the ingredients well. Massage your foot with this exfoliating mixture and see the magic.
Aloe Vera nourishing cream- put 50 grams of aloe Vera gel, 50 grams of peeled and chopped cucumber and 50 ml of distilled water in an electric blender. Make a smooth paste and the cream is ready to be applied. Massage it on face before sleeping and leave it overnight. Store it in a refrigerator and use it till one week.
