A Simplistic Guide to Better Eyesight
Even if you want to forget about all the wonderful words poets have used about eyes, you would still agree that these are our first point of connection and that what we can express through our eyes cannot be expressed in words. But what happens, when your eyes go hidden behind thick spectacle lenses? Half of your charisma dies, and then you start looking for alternatives to wearing spectacles. But, in the first place why should you wait till your eyesight dwindles. There are lots of things you can do to maintain you eyesight, even till you become a grand mom. Also these little things may prove helpful in improving the eyesight, if your sight problem is in the initial stages.
2 Tips on how to improve eye sight
Rest and exercise
Like the rest of our body parts are eyes also get exhausted, when we read or watch TV for a long time. So we must take short breaks of about one or two minutes every few hours and sit down with closed eyes to relax them. Eye exercises also work wonders in protecting the eyesight, by increasing blood flow to the eye balls. There are lots of simple exercises to tone up the eye muscles, and some of them are as simple as blinking and rolling the eye balls.
Eat for your eyes
Almonds are the best food for good eye health, and having about eight to ten of these, will ensure that your eyes get all the vitamin E that they need. Besides almonds, papaya or carrots must feature on your every day diet list. Both these contain beta-carotene and vitamin A which will guard your eyes against the usual eye problems like cataract and color blindness.
Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are also known to help immensely in protecting the eyesight, and the best source for these fatty acids is flax seed. Also sunflower oil, peanut butter and omega 3 fortified eggs may be able to supply you with these fatty acids.
