A Few Essential Vegetables for your Diet

Vegetables are known for their goodness and must be a part of your staple diet. They carry enormous amounts of nutrition that the body cannot do without and needs on a daily basis.

A straightforward way to maintain a healthy body that is strong and free of ailments is to consume adequate quantities of certain vegetables which matter most.  So, what should your diet contain? You must be aware of the specific value of those vegetables which are more mandatory for your system than the rest.

Leafy vegetables certainly make it to the top. They are low in fat and extremely rich in folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin K, magnesium, potassium et al.  Spinach, lettuce, collard greens etc can be had in salads, or in sandwiches or soups and go a long way to protect the body against risks of cancer, heart diseases and strengthens bones.

Broccoli is another that fall under the category of essential vegetables.Essentially laden with antioxidants, vitamin A, C and E, iron etc. makes it a power packed vegetable that is hugely beneficial for the body.

Cauliflowers are wonderful resources of many; from vitamin A, vitamin B-complex, vitamin E, carbohydrates, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, protein. Fantastically low in calories and sodium, it also scores nil on fat and cholesterol.

For those who are insistent on having their skin, hair and nails healthy, sweet potatoes are a must as they are enriched with vitamin A. And this is not all. Sweet potatoes hoard a number of other essential components as well which are extremely beneficial to the body in a number of ways. It is delicious as well, so that is an added advantage.

Tomatoes are loaded with Vitamin K and help in purifying blood. Raw tomatoes consumption reduces the risk of a number of cancers, protects the liver, prevents heart diseases, cures liver disorders and has a number of other beneficial functions.

Apart from these, other equally important vegetables will be carrots, green peas, onions, garlic, sprouts that are essential for the normal workings of the body.Vegetables are great ways to stay fit, nourished and trim and absolutely energized.
