So, don’t wait till the day you’re diagnosed with some medical problem, rather start making healthy eating choices from today itself, to enjoy a better tomorrow.

Here is a short list of foods that most experts believe should be consumed on a regular basis to avoid serious health problems.

Greens

Green and leafy vegetables, especially spinach and celery are the ultimate choices to stay healthy. All the green vegetables are major health boosters and most of them provide you with the much needed plant-based omega-3 fatty acids and foliates. And both these nutrients help in fighting heart and bone related problems.

Curds and yogurt

These cultured dairy foods have enjoyed a healthy reputation for ages, because of their probiotic properties. These fermented foods contain a good amount of probiotic organisms which help in boosting your immunity system and fighting diseases. They’re the best remedy for digestion related problems.

Berries

Berries are rich in antioxidants and fiber, and thus they lend support in fighting cancers, diabetes, heart problems and age related problems.

Beans

Kidney beans or black beans; just be sure you have at least one serving of these, on a daily basis. They’re good for your heart and the best part is that they have a highly positive effect on your brain functions.

Nuts

Most of the nuts are loaded with essential fatty acids and polyphenols. And while the fatty acids will fight heart problems, the polyphenols are needed to fight inflammatory problems. Of all the nuts, walnut and almonds offer the maximum quantities of these two nutrients.

Oats

Most of the modern day diets lack in fiber, and oats are a great way to add in some good amount of soluble fiber to your daily diet. The fiber is needed not just for a good and healthy digestion, but it also brings along the benefit of lowering the bad cholesterol.
