Athletes’ foot medically called as the tines pedis is one of the most common skin fungal infection caused by the fungus names dermatophytes. It mainly affects the toes and the areas in between the toes of the feet and can spread to other parts of the body. It is highly contagious.
This fungus can infect any human being but is more common in men because they wear shoes and socks for a longer time which provides the fungus a warm and moist environment to thrive on. Symptoms of athlete’s foot are scaling and flaking of the skin in between the toes and soles of the feet, itching and redness, pain and cracks on the skin occasionally. In the initial stages of the infection, home remedies can help to get rid of athletes foot.
